I think as man progresses in ICT he progresses in morality too.

- I think that the amount of morality stays consistent. As technology increases, people are able to use these advances to benefit mankind. For example, new techniques for cleaning water an other engineering devices help impoverished countries. Also, better technology can take to place of more dangerous jobs saving human lives. However, I have noticed that the increase in technology creates an increase in the spread of mass media. As people must work more to support a family, kids are often "raised by the TV". Spending hours being influenced by messages on the Internet, in magazines, and on TV, without any filtration or direction from parents, kids are influenced by the messages teaching them immoral behaviors and attitudes. Kids become jaded and often more violent or corrupt. Also, technological advances have also created advances in warfare technology. One may argue that this increase in the destructive power of weapons forces leaders to take on a more moral and universal view focusing on all of humanity as well as future generations. However, such advances in warfare have also created ways of enforcing mass destruction without being forced to see the consequences. While in earlier days, men had to fight hand-to-hand and therefore saw the people they killed, today, thousands may be slaughtered on the other side of the world without having to leave the country.
- Morality is at an all time low, imagine if you lived in the 50s, what kind of technology did we have then? not much, If you said B**ch on TV in the 50s..... wow what is the world coming to. Fast forward to 2008, we live in a society that is post moral. FCC doesnt hold anything back. A woman in a thong on tv is nothing any more. The more access we have to find out information leads kids to wonder the depths of the internet. Surfing porn, and other disgusting web sites. Innocence was once thought of as something to keep. So as I close this, the more the technology, the more we know, the less we are shocked by things that were thought unspeakable before.
