Communication technology in plain language refers to the gadgets, devices, machines,equipments and facilities, and programs or softwares and systems, that are being used in electronic communications. This may include mobile and landline post, communications cables and other lines like fiber optics, computers, modems, satellite, parabolic and other antennas, electronic switches, switching and network offices, the internet, etc. On the other hand, information technology refers to the system that a company has in order to gather and dissiminate information that will help them gain competitive advantage against rival companies. This may include a company's information technology set up, like computers, mainframes or servers, internet, information gathering procedures and softwares, information analysis softwares and procedures, information treatment and handling procedures, information storage procedures and softwares, information dissimination procedure and softwares, and network of information sources lkie suppliers and business partners and many others. As an individual the effect of communication technology on you are, better, faster and on-time communication with your family, friends, relatives, co-workers, pals, chums, and with anybody or any institutions that has electronic communication capabilities.
