What are dangers of new communication technology on face-to-face communication?

1. I think it is pushing personalities, real expression and emotion into the closet. We have so many ways of communicating by written word and phones that the needs all humans have for personal and physical contact are not being met. What this will mean for younger generations is yet to be seen. But adults, the elderly in particular, need personal contact. Loneliness is as deadly and as painful as any decease.
