Are Original certificates necessary for Joining in Reliance Communication?

One of my friends is joining Reliance Communication. For joining they are asking for all original certificates and testimonials. My friend has either lost or misplaced them . Tell me , will the company cancel his appointment if he is not able to submit the documents?

1. Ask him to get new certificates from respective departments with the details of year of passing exams, testimonials from the company where he served. He should have xerox copy of the original certificate and testimonials at least.
