What is wrong with the internet applications on my computer?

As of right now, my Internet Explorer 7.0 is able to connect to the internet but all of my other internet programs such as Firefox 3.0 or Google Chrome are unable to detect internet on my computer. This is also preventing programs such as Spybot from installing without detectable internet detection. However, I know that I am receiving internet at all of these times. Do I have a virus or spyware?

1. me too! I have dwnloaded this internet 7 but I dont see it nowhere in site..I need help and Im not a big fan of Mozilla. =(
2. Go to safe mode w/ networking and try it there (restart and tap F8), open Chrome or Firefox, if you get a connection, that means you got a spyware. If the same, you uninstall IE 7 and reinstall it.
