What are the key theories behind communication and interpersonal skills?

My assignment is asking me for examples of how i have used effective communication skills using refernces of theories of communication and interpersoanl skills and i am at a losst. I've tried googling theoriests but come up with nothing. The books i have aren't helping me either. Thanks in advance Annie My course is the foundation degree in early years. All my textbooks tell me is about why communication is important. Will try the google search. thanks

1. What subject is this course? I can't believe that the textbooks you've been using wouldn't contain this information. I just did a search on "interpersonal communication" and got lots of returns. Try it.
