What are some obstacles to communication between generations?

We know today that parents and children sometimes have trouble understanding each other. What are some obstacles to communication between generations? It can be from experience, readings etc.

1. understanding, lack of communication, some parents spoil theit kids just by buying everything their kids wants. just because your kid<s> scream and yell in demending tone "i want that" doesn't meant you have to follow it. second thought, its influence of computer games, TYV <MTV, bet> and just media.
