Is it possible to connect a coaxial audio to a fibre optic audio ?
I am trying to connect a Sky plus box to an amplifier that only has a coax audio imput

- Unfortunately no. In coaxial cables the information gets sent along the wire as electric pulses. But Fibre optic wires transfer pulses of light. You would therefore need to source an adaptor, should one exist, to convert between the two methods of sending messages. The conversion process may also effect the timing of the audio, thereby what you hear does not fit the picture that you see.
- You should be able to do it throuh your scart instead. Connect the scart from your Sky box to an AV splitter. Then from the splitter, connect one scart directly to your TV/Monitor then a scart to coax for the audio. You should be able to pick up everything you need from somewhere like Richer Sounds or Maplin
