What is the standard distance between manholes when installing a duct fibre optic cable?
If we install a 50mm duct what is the acceptable standard distance between manholes for the installation of a duct fibre optic cable.

- You may need to get hold of a BT engineer for this one. I remember that 30 years ago being shown a 1km length of fibre optic cable on a reel and being told how proud they were that they could get that far without repeaters. I would guess it's beyond 5km by now. It would also depend on how many acute corners your cable needs to travel. A 50mm duct will be big enough for a mouse to travel unless you intend to pack it well so watch your ends to make sure they're rodent proof.
