do i need media converters for connecting my fibre optics cable?

i already have a fibre compatible switch and router. do i still need an ethernet media converter?

1. If the devices are fiber ready, then the conversion should happen in the device. As long as there are copper ready ports coming out of the switch and router then you won't need any extra devices to do the converting
2. You can go fibre straight to the switch or the router, you only really need a media converter if, for example you wanted to have a wireless access point at the end of a fibre link, and wap's don't have a fibre port on them.
