How much body language does a webcam convey? Just looking at body language itself, let's say that body language is 100% present in a direct, face-to-face conversation. How much % of body language can be conveyed through a webcam? I guess I would say around 60%. The biggest problem being that it is completely impossible to have eye-to-eye contact at the same time, which, at least to me, is a great part of communication (I consider it body language). What do you think?
What are body language that a guy on the next apartment will show if he likes me? What are signs that this guy might like me? Just tell me some signs that a guy will show, if he lives on the next apartment. His balcony is right in front of my bedroom window. I am talking about body language mainly not any talking or touching. He sometimes even walks on the streets. Just tell me how his body language will be if i look at him or not look at him when hes on the streets or on his balcony. Please try to help me.
What are some of the hidden messages in our body language? They say that 55% of what we think is shown through our body language and only 7% in what we say. Microexpressions last one quarter of a second and show our hidden expressions and only one percent of the earths population have the natural ability to detect them. Body language is a lot more visible but can be just as difficult to comprehend. Can you give me examples of hidden messages shown in our body language, for example with people who lie?
How to show better body language to women? I heard that girls are a lot more aware of body language that guys are, and that girls often make assumptions of guys based off the body language signals that they will send off. So... What are some good body language techinques that will attract women? What are some good ways to read body language that women send to a guy?
What body language would be used by a confident person? I am not very confident at the moment as I am going through many relationship issues with friends, family but especially my girlfriend. I was reading that people who appear confident through body language are more attractive and that this in itself could boost confidence. What are the signs I can try immitating like breathing, posture when sitting/standing. What body language would appeal to my girlfriend and help turn our relationship to how it used to be?
Is body language a valuable tool or a type of prejudice? I once took a class in body language. The instructor said: (1) We should learn to control our body language so that we can consciously use body language that indicates we're telling the truth. (2) If we don't learn to control our body language, we might unconsciously use liar's body language even when we're telling the truth. (3) We should learn to read body language so we can tell whether other people are telling the truth. Does anybody else see the contradiction here? An untrained person who's telling the truth might be using liar's body language. A trained person who's lying might be using truth-teller's body language. I think we should study body language, but only so that we can catch our own unconscious prejudices that are formed based on other people's body language. We need to judge people on their words and actions , not on their twitches and gestures. As for controlling my own body language to re-assure body language readers, I would rather just avoid associating with people who are more interested in my gestures than in my words.
What typical body language would you show if you liked someone? A friend was over and I was showing him a video on my laptop, as my hands were on the edge of the palmrest, his hand was slightly touching mine - I moved my hands a couple of times but we went back to slightly touching eachothers hands. Also, on the bus I was talking to him about something and there was like a 2 or 3 seconds just looking at eachother... Just out of curiosity, would you consider this as body language attraction? What other things would typically show so I can be more aware?
What is the body language or signs a guy will show if he loves you ? And this guy lives in the next apartment so what body language or signs will he give me if he is interested or in love with me? Without touching, or talking. His balcony is like opposite or right in front of my bedroom window and his bedroom window is also in front of my bedroom window and hall. And how would he drive in front of me Please help;) Hope you understood my question.
Why does the body language of a thoroughbred in the paddock and during the post parade say? How might this affect the way they run. example - How can you tell a nervous horse from one "on their toes"? What does it mean when a horse goes into a "war type dance" looking gait before the race? Is being lathered up good or bad, what about being saddled in the paddock or having no pony during the post parade? Can anyone thoroughly explain some of the body language of a thoroughbred racehorse prior to the race and how it may influence their run?
How much body language can be interpreted through webcam? Body language is a huge part of conversation. What percentage of body language do you think can be expressed through a webcam conversation (with a microphone)? Or, maybe to put it in another way... Let's say verbal communication is 40% of communication and body language is 60%. If two people just talked by phone, they would only be communicating to an extent of 40%. If they added a webcam, to what % would that 40% increase? To like, 50%? What do you think?
How much emphasis do you put on body language? If someone is telling you one thing and their body language is saying something else, which do you believe? Do you think body language pertains to everyone or are some people simply unreadable?
What body language should I look for while we're slow dancing? I like this guy, and I have to go to a dance at his church. The church is old-fashioned, so the boys have to dance with every girl they know. When I'm slow dancing with him, what signs or body language should I look for to determine if he likes me? He used to like me, but I haven't seen him in awhile, so I don't know if he likes me anymore.

What do my cats think of my dancing? Do cats understand our body language? I know you can tell a lot about a cat's mood just by their tail and body language, but I've always wondered if it's reciprocated in the same fashion. Do cats understand or know how to interpret our body language? Besides reaching out to pet them, or playing/throwing a toy for attention. I dance around the house all the time and my cats always seem to get hyper and excited.
How would you go about learning body language? I mean more than just obvious stuff. I'm saying how would you get to point where you would be able to make a reasonable guess about somebody (their job, what they are doing, what they are thinking about erc.), based on what they are wearing, other body language indicators, their tone of voice etc. Any references?
What is a good activity that I could do involving body language around the world? I'm doing a presentation for my sociology class about the differences in body language around the world, and I need an activity to do as a class. It needs to engage the students and hopefully invite conversation. My presentation is explaining how our actions are interpreted differently in other cultures. Thanks =) BTW, my class is about 30 people, but it does not have to include everyone.
What does this body language say about this guy in my class ? - He's by far the best looking boy in class - I may or may not have a slight crush on him (never even spoke to him) - Every single day when he shows up to lecture he just goes to his seat and puts his head down into his arms and rests until the prof starts the lecture. -What does this body language say about this boy in my class ? How do you improve your self awareness concerning body language? I don't want anyone to be able to "read me" or have any idea what my thoughts are. I have a good poker face, but can't seem to use it all the time. I slip up. Also, I slouch a lot. How can I become more aware of my body language, so that I don't show any?
Why guys are so horrible in understanding the body language than gals ? Gals beautifully understands gesture like non verbal cues , gaze , hand moments , tone and loudness of voice etc. But guys either do not understand body language at all or misunderstand them as a permission given by a gal for physical advances. Do you agree with this ? If yes , what is the reason ?
What does it mean when a girl copies your body language and stupid sayings? There are stupid saying, exclamations, and outlandish statements that I like to use, and I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who uses them. But this girl has recently started talking the way I talk and using body language the way I do when I talk with her and also when she talks to others. She throws quick glances at me frequently when I'm walking by in the hall but I can't tell her expression. Why is she doing this?
What does body language say when answering a question? I am interested to know what a persons body language is saying when you ask them a question and they have to pick up an object, like a pen from their desk, before or whilst answering you. They don't use the pen, they just seem to toy with it, usually with both hands. Any ideas? - Thanks in advance. Peter

People I've asked have said psychology, but I don't think so... Some sort of anthropology? Is there some sort of career where it's more applicable and tangible? Any help at all, please! Thanks!

What do you think her body language meant? I'm having a holiday party with a bunch of friends and sent out an email inviting a bunch of people, including this shy girl we know. She wrote back to decline and said that she was having a party and inviting you guys to hers, but you beat her to the punch. When you saw her, you asked her if you and your friends dropped the ball on her party. She shyly smiled and quietly said "yeah" as she subtly sunk her head in her shoulders. how important is body language in communication? a lecturer who is passionate about his subject would probably get his thoughts across better than one who isn't- that's pretty much a given. but what about the guy that acts like a drunk, but says things that make perfect sense? wouldn't his body language then be a distraction, rather than a help? if so, wouldn't non face to face communication (like writing) be more effective? how important is body language in trying to communicate effectively?

Im doing a science project: Can body language help you determine if a person is lying? This is my conclusion so far: In conclusion, my hypothesis that body language can, indeed, be a big help in determining whether or not a person is lying was proven correct. Despite the fact that no type of body language suggests ultimate proof of lying, I did background research on body language before experimenting, only to find that during my experiment, many of the surveyed students displayed at least one of these changes when they began to lie. When a person lies, they’ll normally feel uncomfortable about it, and their displayed gestures will conflict with the words coming out of their mouths. Some people may give away their signs of lying without even realizing it. The body language of lying varies from the ever so tiny curling of the lip to excess and unnecessary laughing. WHAT ELSE CAN I ADD? this is my conclusion so far. WHAT ELSE CAN I ADD? whether or not a person is lying was proven to be correct. Despite the fact that no type of body language suggests ultimate proof of lying, the research on body language that I conducted before experimenting helped me find that during my experiment, many of the surveyed students displayed at least one of these changes when they began to lie. Also, when one tries to hide their falsehood, they tend to not wish to look the opposite person in the eyes. Detectives use subtle body language like this in their profession to perceive whether a suspect is lying or not. If I were to conduct this experiment agai
I want to improve my body language etc. What do you think about NLP? Are there alternatives? I'm training my oratory. Consider these aspects: - Body Language (including posture, gestures and facial expression) - Voice (including rhythm and tone) - Word use (creating the right allegories, analogies etc) My goal is to be able to use them rationally and consciously in my orations. NLP seems to deal with these subjects, but, according to wikipedia, there is large criticism of it being Pseudoscience. What do you think of it? Are there any alternatives? Suggestions, tips and general help are greatly appreciated

Should I not put much stock in body language? Sure there's the obvious, I usually pay attention to the facial expressions more but people think I like a certain guy or in love and they are always wrong. They say it's by my actions. Well everyone's different you know. So am I right in not putting much stock in body language?
Are there any charts on body language? I'm looking for a chart that tells about body language, and not the really obvious kind, like "if someone's looking you in the eye they're interested in what you have to say". I want a chart that has body language information that's a little less obvious.
Is it possible to fake body language? I've known a man who, I know, had virtually only one wish - to have sex with me. What is disturbing me is his body language. I've read that particular signs, such as locking each other's fingers, touching with heads (not when kissing) etc., usually mean deeper feelings, not only physical attraction. I could think that he knows about these signs and deliberately shows them to me, however I'm almost100percent sure, he has no idea about body language... On the other hand, I'm also sure that all he feels for me is "sex, bed,f...". Maybe, except little sympathy.. Please, tell what you think about this.
What is the truth about speaking vs. body language? (see details)? I've read a few times now, in various articles, that "Only a small percentage of communication involves actual words: 7%, to be exact. In fact, 55% of communication is visual (body language, eye contact) and 38% is vocal (pitch, speed, volume, tone of voice). The world's best business communicators have strong body language: a commanding presence that reflects confidence, competence, and charisma." However!...when I contact the authors about the sources for this I never get a reply. In addition I did contact the authors of a book who propose the opposite...they claim it's an urban legend. Can anyone point me to the hard studies that show real evidence for this...or whatever the proper percentage is?
What are the various clues in conversation or otherwise with Body Language? I've heard that body language is between 60-93% of the message that gets sent across. I've also heard that females over males are way better at catching those signals. So the question is, what are the cues and how do I go about using it to my advantage, rather than vaguely going about life without knowing the full extent of my communicational abilities.
How can I study Body Language? I want to study more about body language but I do not know what good books should I read. I have read Allan and Barbara Pease's The Definitive Book of Body Language. Can you recommend me more references for body language? Thank you very much.

Are women better at reading body language then men, if so why>? I am tempted to ask this question, b/c my gf can tell if i am lying, being aggresive, etc. But I have found other women, who are decent in picking up body language. On the other hand, i look at women and intrepret their body language as "she wants me." Do you think women are better at reading body language? If so why, enivronment, general or what?
Body language Question - what message do these things convey? I've always been interested in how to interpret certain mannerisms and body language. Was watching someone and you don't see this type of behavior/mannerisms often and I became curious. 1.) At times, her shoulders seemed to rise up and her head sunk in as she looked downward. Or only one shoulder would rise. She always had a smile on though. Happened frequently - what does it mean or what message does it convey? 2.) Facial expressions: Eyebrows lift and eyes become wider, half smile given. What does that mean or what message does it convey? What do you think of this behavior/body language?
what is specific about body language in uk? i came to the uk to work in b2b sales and am hearing that am not a typical sales guy and my body language is limited. what can that be? is this related to the english hypocritical showing emotions that they dont feel and that english people like bulshiting each other that way, and i may be too real in my body language?

My fav is to see them rubbing their head with paws, before that, they even rubbing paws swiftly as if applying oil on it, lol. Well, I was checking out their body languages for fun and noticed one said thats its actually an act of tenderness. I wonder what does it really mean? I always take it as a usual cleaning and grooming though.
How can I control my body language? I am beginning to feel that my body language and facial expressions are letting me down sometimes...I am a retail manager and there are times when i shouldn't look bored/angry/annoyed because customers and co-workers shouldn't have to see it! I am aiming to be an area manager and even though there are people i don't necessarily like, i will still have to work with them and don't want my dislike to be obvious when i'm trying to do my job. can anyone give me tips on "poker faces" and how to neutralise my body language?
